About Bonnie

Bonnie knows she has one life to live on this Earth. She has a serious bout of Wanderlust and wants to see most of the world before she dies. Travel has enriched her life, given her new perspective, and opened her eyes to all the beauty in the world.

Exploring new destinations and meeting new people is what makes her feel alive. She started It’s a Bonnie Thing to inspire others to have more fun, travel more often, and focus on the beauty that exists in the world. Bonnie has traveled to 32 countries and 5 continents.

Her favorite countries are Greece and Italy. These are two she always longs to return back to. She has traveled to Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, South America, Central America, French Polynesia and Europe. She still has two pages of bucket list destinations she hopes to see, not to mention more lists filled with travel experiences she would like to have, and travel events she would like to attend. Travel is quite an obsession and when she is home she is often daydreaming while staring at her world map. She loves luxury travel but doesn’t love luxury prices. She always finds a good deal because the more she saves on each trip means the more she can travel. She utilizes rewards, loyalty programs, websites to get the best travel deals. She wants to teach you that everyone can travel it just takes some planning.

When she is not traveling she loves being home spending time in the Colorado Rockies with her husband and friends.

She loves planning parties and dressing up in costumes.  She is a spirited girl with a lot of energy who likes to plan fun!  She likes to sing although she can’t carry a tune and dance in the kitchen to the Pink Martini Pandora station. She loves to see people having fun and pursuing their passions. She enjoys bringing people together to enjoy food and wine with a theatrical flair.

 Bonnie’s Work and Education Background

She has a BA in theater from the University of California, San Diego. She furthered her education with the Denver Paralegal Institute, Armbrust Real Estate School and received her Level 1 Wine Sommelier certificate from the Colorado Wine Guild.

She has worked as a paralegal, realtor, travel agent, wine rep, event planner, and event crew member at the Winter Park Ski resort. She dreamed of being a Samantha Brown or Spa Review Critic so it became time to work on her dreams and not someone else’s. Bonnie created this her website to inspire you to focus on the beauty that surrounds you and to inspire you to see this incredible planet we live on. She also hopes you learn and use a few of her travel tips so you can travel for less too.

The world is your magical kingdom!

Bonnie will make you laugh, smile, and inspire you to go after your dreams. She will take you on her personal journey of creating the happily ever after. She is creating the character of Bonnie in her story and writing her own fairy tale.

You will learn tips on how to be more positive, go after your dreams, enjoy luxury travel for less, have more fun, laugh more, and how to plan an amazing vacation.

Even though we have big, tall mountains like 14ers in Colorado, Mt Baker just always seems bigger but it’s only 10,781 ft. It is the third highest mtn. peak in the state. I love how these mountains just seem to rise from the sea.
Victoria, Canada! You can take a seaplane, a ferry Victoria, Canada! You can take a seaplane, a ferry or your private boat to reach Victoria. We spent the weekend at the Causeway Marina right in the heart of Victoria! This is the prettiest marina I’ve ever stayed in. We cruised to meet the San Juan Island Yacht Club to celebrate their Past Commodores cruise. This is always one of my favorite cruises of the summer calendar. Unfortunately I got sick and missed out on one of the most highlighted events of the season. You know I’m sick if I choose bed over a party with dinner and dancing.

What is your favorite destination on Vancouver Island, Canada? Next summer I am planning a road trip and a boat trip around the island so your comments will be helpful.
