The Author behind “Bonnie”

I’ve always wanted to start a lifestyle and travel blog for the last three years. All talk and no action until today. It’s a Bonnie Thing website is now up.

“Who wants to read what I have to say?”

“What if I suck at writing?”

My journal was filled with all the things I would do if I weren’t afraid to fail.

Bonnie’s 2017 Journal

I had BIG dreams & crazy ideas

It felt inspiring!

The more I believed in myself, The more I pushed myself physically and mentally, the more I went out of my comfort zone, I  felt empowered. Those impossible dreams started to become a reality.

Crazy things I did

I started to work out and pushed myself to run! I hate running!

Jumped in the water with Lemon sharks bigger than me in Bora Bora

Sailed in the San Diego Bay during Santa Ana winds couldn’t wait to get off that small boat!

Built and designed a home with our architect and builder

Started a Blog

Things I learned

The more you push yourself, love yourself, embrace who you are, and believe in yourself…

MAGIC HAPPENS

” I can star as the Princess in my own Fairytale” I own the power to create my Fairytale life and write my happy ending!”

So what if my writing sucks? What if no one reads my blog? It’s ok. At last, I am doing something I have always dreamed of doing.

You can star as the Princess in your own Fairytale & you own the power to write your own happy ending.

I have a lot of content to write, much to learn, and mistakes to make. If I fail that is fine too, I will not have regrets. I’ve learned that failing can be a positive thing. It means I am going after everything I have always wanted in life.

“People may say I can’t sing, but no one can say I didn’t sing.”

Florence Foster Jenkins

Just like Florence, people may say my writing sucked but no one can say I didn’t write.

It feels good to pursue my crazy dreams and writing my own happily ever after. My purpose is to share the beauty in the world and put more positivity in the Universe. If I can make one person smile, wear a tiara, or inspire someone to see a new destination in the world, I have succeeded.

We weren’t born to perfect. We were each born with different passions and uniqueness. My husband calls me Abby Normal and I am not everyone’s cup of tea. I love to celebrate people for their individuality. In our imperfections lies the beauty of being human. It’s a beautiful thing when you embrace yourself, that is when the magic happens!

Focus on the beauty around you

Bonnie is a character that was created to be the girl I always wished to be. She is always positive, fun, and living life full of passion and to the fullest. Every moment counts in Bonnie’s life. She loves to dance, sing, travel the world, make people laugh, entertain, and dress in costumes and wigs. This blog is part biography with a theatrical flair. After all, I was a theater girl.

Life isn’t always easy. We learn to escape through nature, vacations, books, and movies. Art gives us a creative outlet and makes the world a better place to live. Who says you have to live in the real world? Create the real world you wish to live in.

When people ask you what you do for a living, say,  “I LIVE!”

We only have one life to live. Make your life worth living! We all have hardship and negativity can drag us down. It’s when we focus on the positive and realize all the bad things were life lessons to be learned and make us stronger. We learn compassion and forgiveness in our hardships. Some things we thought were bad led us to a different direction or new path. Live a life without judging others and when you feel judged don’t take it personally.

Bonnie’s If I could do anything list….

If I could do anything… I would Travel the World, Create an inspiring online boutique, write a book, plan parties and events all the time, wear costumes a lot, wear a tiara, sing, dance, design clothes, sail on a sailboat, read more books, buy older properties and glam them up, own a yacht or catamaran in a warm climate, learn a foreign language, build a dream home, live in Italy or France for a few months, start a blog

It’s time to start checking your dream items off your list!

At 45, I have half my life left to live. It’s time to do all those things I said I would do if I knew I would not fail. No regrets! I want to live like Bonnie. This is how It’s a Bonnie Thing was born. I want to be that girl! It’s a Bonnie Thing!!!

Even though we have big, tall mountains like 14ers in Colorado, Mt Baker just always seems bigger but it’s only 10,781 ft. It is the third highest mtn. peak in the state. I love how these mountains just seem to rise from the sea.
Victoria, Canada! You can take a seaplane, a ferry Victoria, Canada! You can take a seaplane, a ferry or your private boat to reach Victoria. We spent the weekend at the Causeway Marina right in the heart of Victoria! This is the prettiest marina I’ve ever stayed in. We cruised to meet the San Juan Island Yacht Club to celebrate their Past Commodores cruise. This is always one of my favorite cruises of the summer calendar. Unfortunately I got sick and missed out on one of the most highlighted events of the season. You know I’m sick if I choose bed over a party with dinner and dancing.

What is your favorite destination on Vancouver Island, Canada? Next summer I am planning a road trip and a boat trip around the island so your comments will be helpful.
