Lately, I’ve been obsessed with finding a warm weather beach home. Why?
Because the snow it is snowing every day
It is too cold where I live
I don’t like driving in the snow
I’d rather be walking on a beach instead of skiing on the slopes
I hate shoveling snow.
I’d rather have this view
It is true I grew up near the beach and choose to go to college in a beach town but I have lived in Colorado longer than I have lived anywhere. Sometimes I miss the Ocean so much!
I’ve spent months on Zillow scanning the entire US coastlines for the perfect beach house and perfect deal.
Ugh, look at this snow!
Everytime it snows, I get grumpy! Irritability sets in! I focus and plan trips to the beach and daydream about being on a beach instead of looking out the window at the falling snow.
I realized this obsession is making me not appreciate what I already have.
Wanting more is ok but it is important not to lose sight of what you have. It is better to appreciate what you already have in the quest for wanting more.
By focusing on the beach home and thinking it would make me happier I was becoming more negative about where I live.
They say the grass is always greener, right?
Today as it snows, I reminded myself that I need a serious mental check to appreciate what I already have. It was time to change my thoughts. I’ve always believed we can make it a good day or a bad day just by how we are thinking. It was a wake-up call to change my thoughts.
I looked out the window and felt peace.
The lightly falling snow is beautiful.
I am so fortunate to live here.
I am so lucky.
It feels like Christmas is coming.
It is going to be a beautiful day.
The snow is so good for our local economy and ski resort.
It just goes to show how important your thoughts are and how they can affect your entire day and life. It is why it is always important to be grateful and appreciate everything you already have.
Practice Gratitude, Not Attitude
Today I will have a great day enjoying the snow falling outside my window in huge, fluffy flakes.
I am excited about the ski resort opening and seeing my friends on the slopes this winter.
I am so fortunate to live in this beautiful place.
Bring out the faux fur this season!
If I get cold, the hot tub will warm me up. Sitting in the hot tub with a glass of wine under the snowflakes is one of my favorite things to do.
I love a good glass of red wine by the fireplace on snowy evenings.
Winter Park, Colorado feels like Christmas. I am looking forward to the Holiday Season.
Isn’t it amazing how powerful your thoughts are? They control how you feel. When it comes to your thoughts always make them positive.
Now I am off for a walk in the snow….
