Yay! Bonnie got to take a little road trip from Winter Park, Colorado to Park City, Utah! Did you know it only takes approximately 7 hours? Driving a Porsche you can make it a little faster than that. Shhh! Don’t tell anyone. You can road trip to the ski resorts of Winter Park, Steamboat Springs, Park City & Deer Valley.
It was a beautiful drive with nice mountain passes and curvy roads. Driving a car like this was a dream and it’s way too easy to drive a little too fast. Talk about adventure and a one-way solo female road trip. Fun, Fun, Fun!
The Hubby had a conference in Park City, Utah at the New Park Hotel & Resort. It was a quick two night trip. You can read Bonnie’s review of the New Park Hotel & Resort on TripAdvisor.
It’s an awesome perk to have a husband that travels. Think free hotel rooms! He’s always busy so she finds fun places to dine and explore on her own. It’s like solo female travel with a partner to sleep with at night. Sometimes she even has friends in the area, like in Park City. She got to meet an old friend she hasn’t seen in over ten years.
Park City’s Main Street has ski shops, art galleries, and restaurants. It’s a nice street with a rustic flair. Transportation is easy with a free bus system. Staying further out in the New Park Hotel & Resort was fine.
You can take the free bus to the Main Street. You don’t even have to worry about parking. A good thing to know is that Park City has a free parking garage right near the bus terminal. It’s a ski area and has free parking!
If you love to ski and even if you don’t Park City should be on your bucket list of ski resorts to visit. Strolling the art galleries, going to a spa, shopping or simply enjoying the scenery with a nice glass of wine is good enough.

Park City Nightlife
Another reason to visit Park City is the nightlife! This is the perfect place for a Bachelorette Party, Girl’s Night Out, or Guy’s Night Out trip. There are top luxury spa’s in the area at the posh resorts like Spa Montage in the Montage hotel, the spa at Stein Eriksen Lodge, and the Remede Spa at the St. Regis. Just another way to refresh after a late night out at the Dueling Piano Bar. Speaking of nightlife don’t miss the unique No Name Saloon. Enjoy the rooftop for fresh air and views of the ski area and Main Street.
No Name Saloon – At night this place can become quite crowded
One of Bonnie’s favorite places to dine was the High West Saloon.
It is a distillery that is getting quite a bit of press recently. Whiskey Advocate just named them Distiller of the Year in 2016.
In 2006 the High West Distillery became the first legal distillery since Prohibition Days in the state of Utah.
Plan ahead because it was over an hour wait both times Bonnie visited. Bonnie prefers wine and guess what? They have a wine room with an amazing wine list too. Not only that but the food is some of the best food in Park City. It was so good Bonnie went there twice.
The Shishito Peppers at the Hight West distillery so good Bonnie went back again.
Deer Valley
Deer Valley is a less than 10 minute free bus ride from Park City. Take the tram up to the St. Regis. It’s free. The sunsets by the fire pit at the St. Regis Terrace bar are incredible. Don’t miss the Champagne Sabre ritual at 5:30pm in the winter. This was a personal favorite! Cheers and hope you make it to Park City soon.
Oh and by the way don’t forget to take yourself on a solo road trip! Get your favorite music playlist and sing out load. Road trips are good for the soul.
