The Hutton Hotel in Nashville

in Hotel Reviews, USA on 07/13/17

Imagine my surprise when I found out my Hotwire Hotel was the Hutton Hotel in Nashville.

 Yay Hotwire!!!!

Now, imagine my surprise when the reservation staff told me I had booked a suite and they would be changing my room from Tuesday thru Friday. Wow!

It’s a suite life at the Hutton Hotel.

Our recent trip to Nashville began with a delayed flight out of Denver. I called the Hutton Hotel to let them know we wouldn’t arrive at the hotel until around 12:30 am in the morning.

Some hotels will give your room reservation away if you don’t check in before midnight. If arriving late, it’s always a good idea to call the hotel and let them know.

I made two separate Hotwire reservations since we flew into Nashville a day earlier than expected. The reservation agent apologized for my hold time. She said not to worry about our room and to have a safe flight. I think they gave me an upgrade to the suite because I was on hold for a while. She told me on the phone I had booked a suite for the second part of the reservation!

This is the Hutton’s Deluxe King Room

We arrived via Uber to the Hutton Hotel after 12:30 am and we were exhausted. The bellman lugged my suitcase up the entry stairs for me and placed it behind my chair. The reservation staff was helpful and friendly at check-in. We went to our Deluxe King Room. It was small but nicely decorated with a desk and large windows overlooking West End Avenue. The bathroom was modern with lots of glass. It was perfect for the night and we had a great nights sleep.

The Hutton’s Premium King Suite

On Tuesday, we got to move into the premium king suite. The suite is large and spacious at 480 square feet. I was here for a family vacation but my husband had to work. He had his private work -space in the morning while I was still snoring in bed. In Nashville, late nights out on Broadway are the thing to do. It’s important to have a nice place to get a good night’s sleep.

The toiletries are from Molton Brown. The touch dial shower was impressive to get the perfect shower temperature. We enjoyed how spacious the bathroom with the double his & her’s vanity. There were two closets in the suite, one in the living area and one in the bedroom. Although this room didn’t have a great view we enjoyed the room.

The Amenities

Java Bar

The coffee bar with pastries is a great way to start your morning. Recently, they hired a new pastry chef and we looked at the yummy rolls and muffins each morning. We finally caved in and shared a banana nut muffin.

1808 Grille

The 1808 restaurant has excellent omelets and tacos. We visited the 1808 restaurant several times during our stay. One morning we slept in late and the coffee bar was closed.  The bartender made cappuccinos for us. He also gave us recommendations of diners with 24 hr breakfast options. This restaurant not only has good food but great service too!

Fitness Room

The fitness center has Peleton bikes! My husband was super excited about them. You will get a good workout while traveling. In this room, you will find Paramount weight machines, treadmills, and Pre-cor ellipticals. There is a spa next door.  The door was locked and you will need to book an appointment for a treatment.

Pets are welcome

This hotel is pet-friendly. They do not have any pet size restrictions. They have pet amenities like bowls, mats, leash, and treats. Request a furry friend room service menu for treats and snacks. There is a non-refundable $75 pet fee for stays less than 7 days. If you like to travel with your large furry friend, check out the Hutton Hotel.

Hotel Shuttle

The hotel shuttle that will take you anywhere within a 3-mile radius. It’s a nice perk. They have a van and a Tesla. We used the shuttle to Broadway Street and to Whiskey Kitchen. Just grab a card from the valet and call them when you are ready to be picked up. The shuttle runs until 10:00 pm. West End Avenue is a convenient location, it is close to Belmont University, Music Row, The Gulch, Broadway and the Parthenon. The shuttle will take you to any of these desired locations.

The Service

This hotel wowed me with the friendliness of the staff. We slept in and missed breakfast. I asked if I could get the green juice they have on the breakfast menu. The front desk staff returned with two plastic cups of green juice and said there was a little left from the morning. He didn’t even charge me! The bellman helped me carry them to my room since my hands were full. I had to chase him down to give him a tip.

They have automated do not disturb systems. We had ours on privacy when my husband was working. When I was out exploring the city the cleaning manager sent me a text and asked if I would like service. I have never received a text from a hotel before asking about the cleaning service before. Again, I was wowed! The staff is the best part of staying at The Hutton.

Where do they find their staff? The staff is the reason why you want to book a stay at The Hutton Hotel!

Improvements

They are remodeling the hotel currently. Improvements will be made to the rooms and the renovations will be going on until September 2017. We heard some bangs in our room during the day. It didn’t impact our stay at all. During our stay, the local paper just announced that the Hutton Hotel will be adding a 10,000 square foot live music venue and two singer-songwriter rooms. The details of when these rooms will open are unknown at this time. The Hutton is creating its own internal live music district. Nashville is growing and when you visit you will see all the new buildings rising up on the city skyline. It looks like the Hutton is keeping up with the newest trends.

We had an incredible stay and we were impressed with the friendliness of the staff. The Hutton Hotel offers top-level service with southern hospitality charm. If I return to Nashville I would definitely return to The Hutton Hotel.

If you are in Nashville, hope you get a good night’s sleep,

Bonnie
