Found this awesome pillow at the Kimpton Grand Hotel
Who plans a training conference on Valentine’s Day especially in Brrr freezing Minneapolis??? It had never been on Bonnie’s list to travel to Minneapolis. Luckily, Bonnie can fly with her husband on business trips thanks to the Southwest Companion Pass. So she decided to tag along and explore a new city she’s never been to before.
The first night they stayed at the Courtyard Marriott in Roseville. It was close to his company’s office. The room was dated and had a balcony overlooking a busy highway of semi-trucks passing by. Looking out the window she decided the Courtyard Marriott wasn’t a very romantic place to stay on Valentine’s Day. She checked Hotwire and scored a great deal at the Radisson Blu Hotel for $95 a night plus taxes.
The Radisson Blu Lobby
Minneapolis has enclosed pedestrian walkways known as Skyways. It is like walking in a maze navigating the city while staying warm. A local man on the street said the skyways are faster to walk through than using the street level. It was windy and cold at 45 degrees so she decided to go up and try it. Bonnie had a great time navigating her way to the Guthrie Theatre from the Radisson Blu hotel. The Skyway system connects 69 city blocks and is the longest continuous system in the world. Work, shop, and park your car and never go outside in below zero temperatures in the winter.
The Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis
Did you know Minneapolis is quite the city for Theater? There are 37 theaters in the area and more seats per capita second to New York City. This modern architecture sits along the Mississippi River. It was completed in 2006 by Jean Novel. If in Minneapolis take yourself to the Guthrie. Don’t miss walking out on the Endless Bridge for a great view of the river. Bonnie attended the performance of “The Royal Family.” The show was the perfect way to spend Valentine’s Day. One perk of being solo she got the last seat in the front row on a busy night.
Bonnie took herself out on a date at the Sanctuary Restaurant to celebrate Valentine’s Day. It’s important to celebrate yourself. The best part of dinner was the desert something she rarely orders. If you’ve never dined alone take yourself out on a date sometime. Solo dining should be on your bucket list. Remember to celebrate you! Here is to you, Cheers, Bonnie
