Little Venice Suites, Mykonos, Greece Hotel Review

Little Venice Suites Hotel Review

I’m sure everyone has heard of Mykonos. It is a Greek island where the jet set come to live it up, party all night long, and Sunbathe during the day on beautiful beaches. The four and five-star hotels are quite pricey ranging from $300 to over $1,000 US dollars per night during the high season. Photographs of Little Venice is what drew me to Mykonos and I knew I wanted to stay in the heart of the Mykonos Town Area. I stumbled upon The Little Venice Suites on Trip Advisor

So that is where I booked and this is a hotel review of the Little Venice Suites

When you arrive in Mykonos Town by Taxi you will have to walk to the hotel since it is in a pedestrian area.  It can be hard to find the hotel lugging your heavy suitcases through the crowded, pedestrian stone, maze-like alleyways. This is why I received two phone calls from Niko on the day of arrival while I was on a plane.

The Little Venice Suites are located right next to the Veranda Bar that is on the waterfront. You can see the property in the photograph below.

Can you imagine sitting on your private balcony sipping Champagne watching the sunset every night away from the crowds?

Upon arrival, you will find a steep staircase. My first thought is how am I going to get my suitcase up them! That is what Niko is for. Niko is a young, handsome and strong Greek man who came to the rescue. He carried our bags up for us. He is there every day and will greet you with a smile and tell you everything you need to know about Mykonos. So ask away with any questions you may have.

The Rooms

This is a boutique style property and all the rooms are unique and different. We stayed in the Junior Sea View Suite. Our room was small but nicely decorated with a modern Greek Cave like interior design. A coffee maker and a small fridge are provided. Two small water bottles were provided every day along with coffee and orange juice. The air conditioner is quite powerful in the heat of the summer which is a plus when there is a heatwave. Although we didn’t spend much time in the room there is a flat screen TV if you wish to relax in an air-conditioned room when it is hot outside. It is a lovely room with a quaint balcony that has some beautiful views of the windmills and the blue Aegean sea.

The Bathroom has a Sea View too. If you want privacy you can shut the windows and blinds.

A complimentary bottle of Greek White Wine was provided and we enjoyed it our first night exhausted and jetlagged. Look at the sunset views!

Staying in Little Venice

You will be near all the bars, shops, and restaurants which makes for a fun stay. The Veranda Bar is next door and yes the music is loud. We enjoyed feeling part of the party every night on our deck without being in the crowded bar. We could enjoy the live saxophone music with our store bought Champagne. The music is loud until 2:00 am every night. (Tip- Bring a sound machine with you and put on sleep sounds and with the air conditioning on it will drown out the music) However, we found ourselves enjoying the nightlife each night. If you need peace and quiet this may not be the place for you but if you come to Mykonos to enjoy a little nightlife it is a great place to stay. After all, Mykonos rivals Ibiza when it comes to partying as all the t-shirts say.  After exploring Mykonos we soon realized our favorite area of Mykonos was Little Venice in Mykonos Town.

Would we stay here again?

We would definitely stay here again but upgrade to a suite with a larger and higher balcony perhaps. The highlight of staying here was the sipping Champagne on the balcony, escaping the crowds, and watching the sunset and nightlife happening at the Veranda Bar.

Mykonos Travel Tips

There is a liquor store nearby to save money on cocktails and wine. Drinks are expensive in Mykonos. We enjoyed a bottle of Champagne each night on our deck. I am all about enjoying luxury on a budget. For example, most cocktails and drinks range from $15 Euro and on up at bars and restaurants. A bottle of Moet from a street vendor was $85 Euro. In the local liquor store, it was $45 Euro.

When booking lodging check Emails from Orbitz or Travelocity. I booked the Little Venice Suite using a 15% off promo code on Travelocity. It saved money on lodging and allowed me to enjoy luxury for less. Sign up for emails here and book your next hotel.

Check Mykonos during the off-season like early May, Mid-September to October to save even more money on your hotel.

As always happy travels and if you’ve been to Mykonos feel free to respond with a comment and share your experience.

Cheers,

Bonnie

We had some Colorado friends fly in for a visit this week. They haven’t been to San Juan Island since the early 2000s. We toured by car and by boat.

I personally think San Juan Island is one of the best destinations in the US to visit. If you love nature, hiking, boating, and scenic places this is a place to add to your bucket list. If you get lucky you may even see an Orca 🫍

It poured rain and we sat on the covered patio celebrating with a bottle of Champagne while a wedding ceremony was celebrating and dancing. If you enjoy old historic hotels this is a fun place to stay. Roche Harbor always comes alive in the summer.

Seals are the labradors of the sea. Our dog Cali r Seals are the labradors of the sea. Our dog Cali really wants to be friends with a seal. She loves seeing them. When we pull our boat into our slip a seal usually follows us in and comes up to the boat. The seals in Sidney didn’t seem to mind Cali at all. One seal chose to hang out close to the main walkway close to people and lots of dogs passing by. It didn’t even care and barely lifted its head as some dogs would bark at it.

As much as Cali is curious about seals the seals seem to be curious about her. Our first overnight on our boat Cali was so excited to hang out on a paddleboard picking up seaweed, crab legs, and anything that passed by. I observed a seal swim under the board that she never noticed. I tell her all the time we like the seals. Unlike Otters she does not like Otters at all. Just some dog boating experiences which are new for her since moving to WA. We didn’t have seals in our Colorado lakes.
