Mardi Gras may be over but don’t let the party end

in Inspiration on 03/07/19

Mardi Gras may be over but the party is never over, don’t let it end. You can party every day.

I love to dress up in costumes, gowns, and clothing. It all goes back to the second grade when I was in a play and I was a clown on stage. The audience clapped, and my ears heard them roaring with laughter. It was at that moment I felt a thrill inside me, I made people laugh and smile! I wanted to create this feeling over and over again. Smiling and laughing makes you feel good. It is contagious and we need more laughter and smiles in the world.

So what if I look silly wearing an over the top costume and my husband says, ” Bonnie, everyone in town is going to think you are this crazy, eccentric women”  Well, entertaining people makes me feel alive and boy, do I ever love a good party.

Be silly, have some fun, and play. Life is short, celebrate it every day.

The Party isn’t Over

While the Mardi Gras party may be over don’t let the party inside you be over. You know the stuff that makes you feel alive. The Mardi Gras party I attended had the best dance band and it has been a long time since I’ve danced.

You couldn’t pull me off a dance floor in my college days, I took Jazz, Ballroom dance classes and several times a week I went Country dancing. Dancing was so much fun and it was great exercise and well, you couldn’t pull me off the floor last Friday night. I never wanted the party to end.  The next morning I woke up with a pain in my hip from all the wiggling, shaking, moving and grooving and I was sad the party was over.

I danced around the house all weekend feeling happy and inspired and I thought, this doesn’t have to end. Oh, how I’d forgotten how much I loved to dance until this weekend and it awakened new thoughts like I need to plan a date night with my husband and go dancing more often.

Don’t lose track of the moments that make you feel alive and those moments that make you feel happy.

Party Every Day

Life is short and you should live every day with a fire under feet making you feel alive each and every day. We should treat every day like it is a party. Every day is a celebration because you are alive you have so much to offer this world. This is your party so be sure to show up for it and never let it end.

  • Plan 30 minutes of your day for fun. You deserve 30 minutes for you to do whatever your happy is. It could be reading a book, going for a walk with a dog, taking a bubble bath with your inspirational music playlist, or dancing with your husband in the living room acting as if you were dating all over again.
  • Make a Happy List – full of happy words, happy quotes, and things that make you happy. Put them in a jar and pull one out every morning.
  • Celebrate your accomplishments and achievements. We are hardest on ourselves. Lighten up and write a list of your accomplishments and achievements. I just picked up an old journal of goals from years ago and it was amazing how many of those goals I made happen. I was like, Wow, you did that, and that, oh and cross that off too. Write down your dreams and goals and enjoy that feeling when you cross things off your goal list.
  • Make it a goal to make someone smile every day. Give a compliment, tell a joke, or do something nice for a friend.
  • Play, the child in you is still alive. The things you loved as a child are probably the same things you love as an adult. When I was a kid my favorite thing to do was dress up, dance, and sing with a microphone and nothing much has changed since those days. Remember to play all over again like you did when you were young.
  • Take a few minutes to sing out loud to your favorite song when are driving in your car.
  • Make a Party Inspiration Playlist of songs that you love. Listen to this mix every morning to rev you up for another fun, amazing day.

“Life is a party and you should celebrate it every day”

Cheers Everyone,

Bonnie

What’s your happy place? I have a lot of them bu What’s your happy place? I have a lot of them but San Diego is in my top 5 places I always want to travel to. Why? It has the best year round weather in the US. It’s mostly 70 degrees and sunny. There is so much outdoor things to go do like sail, surf, ride bikes, play on the beach, watch the amazing sunsets and hope for the green flash, shop, dine, go whale watching or see dolphins! It’s been a nice break from the cold weather in Colorado.

La Valencia Hotel in La Jolla is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a cocktail with views of the ocean and palm trees on a Friday evening. We spend a lot of time in San Diego and it is our first time here at the La Sala Lounge. They even had a piano player after sunset.
