Bellevue, Washington great place for business and leisure travel

in USA, Washington on 04/12/17

Bellevue Washington

Bonnie took advantage of the Southwest Companion Pass and tagged along on her husband’s business trip to Bellevue in April of 2017.

One of Bonnie’s favorite airlines she just loves the Companion Pass Status!

The Westin Hotel, Bellevue

The Westin hotel is the perfect place to stay. It is next to shopping, restaurants, The Lucky Strike bowling alley, and the Cinemark movie cineplex. The Westin has a large fitness center, spa, pool and hot tub. Don’t miss the refreshing elixir in the lobby when you check in. Some rooms have a view of Lake Washington. Ask for a high floor for even better views. Bonnie has always gotten a great night’s sleep with the Westin’s heavenly beds. The rooms are spacious at the Bellevue Westin in the deluxe rooms. The corner suite would be the perfect way to upgrade! Great location, almost everything is within walking distance.

Don’t forget to combine your SPG and Marriott Rewards account to earn points. You will receive free wi-fi as an SPG member when booking directly. It’s always a good idea to join the loyalty programs for any hotel you are staying for perks like free water and free wi-fi. You also earn points that can really add up too. Check the hotel’s website for promotions like bonus point promotions before your stay.

Bellevue is a happening place

So much is happening in Bellevue! New hotels, restaurants, shops, residential condos are new or under construction.

Lincoln Square and Bellevue Square are perfect for shopping. High-end retail is available if you like Prada, Burberry, Neiman Marcus at the Shops of Bravern.

There are over 200 shops and 50 restaurants between Lincoln Square and Bellevue Square
Remember Bonnie’s post last month about Minneapolis and the Sky Bridges? Bellevue is building sky walks between buildings. They are so cool! Bonnie was able to walk from the Westin to the Lincoln Center to the Hyatt Regency for dinner at 13 Coins without getting her hair wet. The Hyatt Regency has shops and restaurants too.

The downtown Bellevue Park is expanding and projected to be completed by summer 2017.  New hotels are coming too. The W Hotel at Lincoln Square is scheduled to open this summer 2017, the Hilton Garden Inn is scheduled to open September 2017,   and the AC Hotel by Marriott is scheduled to open this June. New residential units are available to purchase in high-rise buildings like the mixed-use Lincoln Square.

A construction worker Bonnie met at a local Starbucks said the cranes won’t be going away anytime soon. Bellevue will continue to grow with new residential condos over the next 5 years. He said there are more cranes in the Seattle area than anywhere else in the US currently.

Corporations like Microsoft, Expedia, Amazon, T-Mobile and The Pokemon Company International are making Bellevue a tech hot spot. There are over 140,000 jobs in the Bellevue! Bellevue is Washington’s fifth largest city with a population of 126,600 according to the Bellevue Visitor’s Guide Bonnie found it in her room at the Westin. Bellevue has had a recent growth spurt. The new condo’s, new jobs, a low crime rate have people in their 30’s moving here from Downtown Seattle.

Dine Out in Bellevue

Love to dine out? You have your choice of chain restaurants like Ruth Chris, Maggiono’s, PF Changs. Wild Ginger and 13 Coins. John Howie Steak, Seastar and El Gaucho are the top fine dining restaurants in the area according to Trip Advisor and Yelp. There are over 50 restaurants to choose from within walking distance from the Westin Hotel. All you need to do is pick your cuisine. When in Washington Bonnie recommends sushi andThaii!

Try Seastar for Sushi. Save money at happy hour from 3-6pm.

Two orders of the spicy tuna roll please! Seascape is the perfect place in Bellevue to come for happy hour. It’s from 3-6pm! Yum Yum!

Nibbana was busy for lunch!  It was worth the wait! The Pineapple curry had great flavor! Bonnie loves Thai food!

The Thai food at Nippana is so good Bonnie’s husband went twice

Get a serious sugar rush! Try the insane sunday’s at Vino 53.

Travel to Bellevue

Bellevue gets a lot of business traveler’s with all the corporations that have based there. If you have a spouse that is traveling to Bellevue tag along on the business trip. You won’t be disappointed. There is so much to do! Shop, visit BAM, the art museum, dine out, go to the spa or go to the Botanical Gardens to get a selfie on the suspension bridge.

You can Uber to Woodinville and sip wine in tasting rooms of Chateau Ste. Michelle or visit the Willows Lodge for happy hour. An Uber cost Bonnie $30.75 from the Westin to Brian Carter Cellars Tasting Room. You can read more about Woodinville in Bonnie’s post Woodinville, Washington the place to taste wine in WA

A Travel Necessity

On this trip Bonnie forgot her iPhone 7 plus headphone jack. Being obsessed with Rose Gold she made a necessary travel purchase Rose Gold Wireless Solo 3 Beats.

It’s a Bonnie Thing and a travel necessity

She loves her new headphones! Bellevue is an awesome place to shop! If you’ve always wanted a pair of Beats headphones you can buy them on Amazon from Beats directly just click on the link. You don’t have to go all the way to Bellevue.

The State of Washington

Washington is one of Bonnie’s favorite states in the US. Seattle is one of her favorite cities in the US. She has traveled to Leavenworth, Woodinville, Seattle, Bellevue and San Juan Island. Going to Washington is always a place on her bucket list to return. She hopes to spend more time in the San Juan islands in the future.

If you are going to the Washington have fun! Share your tips and pictures with Bonnie she would love to hear from you. Washington is always on her travel list. Hope you enjoy it as much as she does.

Bye for now,

Bonnie

Bonnie loves the oversized, swivel chairs at the 13 Coins. There is one in the Hyatt Regency in Bellevue!

It has the best year round weather in the US. It’s mostly 70 degrees and sunny. There is so much outdoor things to go do like sail, surf, ride bikes, play on the beach, watch the amazing sunsets and hope for the green flash, shop, dine, go whale watching or see dolphins! It’s been a nice break from the cold weather in Colorado.
